Students at Vine Middle Magnet School’s after school GeoTech club were able to explore the impact of fuel density on wildfire using agent based modeling and the SimTable. Students tested the impact of different fuel densities and how that relates to amount of area burned and speed of wildfire spreading. They then tested their knowledge on the SimTable by painting different fuel densities on the surface and testing the speed and distance of wildfire spread.
