Repairing FARO Targets

We were recently working with a group of students interested in cave mapping with terrestrial lidar scanners. We needed to make sure we had enough of the white, spherical targets so that we could have sufficient registration between multiple scans across multiple rooms. One of the original FARO targets was broken and needed repair. If your target breaks in a similar way, you can replace the screw inside the base with a toggle bolt and put it back together.

You can also use 5″ styrofoam balls from a craft store and cut up dowels to make posts for them if you need as many targets as we did.
