UTK Geography Grad Student Evan Norton’s work was featured in a recent article from the Urban Waters Learning Network. Students from local Boys and Girls Clubs attended a summer watershed camp organized by grad students from the College of Social Work. To support their learning, students went on a data collection trip where they followed the path of Baker Creek from it’s headlands near South Doyle Middle School to the confluence with the Tennessee River. Evan designed an ArcGIS geodatabase for students to use with GPS enabled iPads for their data collection. Evan was also responisble for setting up ArcGIS Online accounts for the students and teaching them how to use the data collection app.
